Boulder County Coronavirus Update: 239 New Cases Confirmed
Here's the latest news about the coronavirus in Boulder County, and a case breakdown by municipality and CU Boulder.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Over the past week, 239 new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Boulder County — a far lower weekly number than the county reported over the past month, public health data shows.
Two new public health orders were issued Wednesday in the county after a drop in coronavirus cases. Boulder County Public Health issued an order Sept. 24 that required everyone in Boulder between the ages of 18 to 22 to halt gatherings, and so far, the order appears to be working — the University of Colorado Boulder's spike in cases has dropped dramatically, health officials confirmed.
As of Friday, 4,784 people in the county had tested positive for the virus since the outbreak began. The death toll reached 81 after one person died over the past week.

Around 215 people have been hospitalized since the outbreak began, according to Boulder County Public Health. More than 74,000 people have been tested in the county — over 10,000 tests were reported in the past week alone.
CU Boulder reported only one new case Friday.

Boulder County Public Health released the following municipal breakdown of case numbers, which include both probable and confirmed cases as of Friday:
Boulder - 58 new cases over the past week; 2,752 total cases
Longmont - 32 new cases over the past week; 969 total cases
Lafayette - 9 new cases over the past week; 277 total cases
Louisville - 7 new cases over the past week; 193 total cases
Superior - 1 new case over the past week; 63 total cases
Erie - 5 new cases over the past week; 57 total cases
Unincorporated Boulder County - 15 new cases over the past week; 267 total cases

Over the past week, more than 5,000 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Colorado, according to public health data.
More than a dozen counties in the state are at risk of increased restrictions after a recent spike in cases. The surge has been seen across Denver's metro region as many people understandably experience "COVID-19 fatigue," health officials said.
"We're tired of the coronavirus, but the coronavirus isn't tired of us," Gov. Jared Polis continues to say during his bi-weekly news conferences.
As of Friday, 76,619 people have been infected with the coronavirus in our state among 995,817 people who have been tested since the outbreak began, health officials confirmed.
Around 7,855 people have been hospitalized, and the death toll has reached 2,103.
