Boulder County Coronavirus Update: 400 New Cases Confirmed

Here's the latest news about the coronavirus in Boulder County, and a case breakdown by municipality and CU Boulder.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Over the past week, 400 new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Boulder County, according to public health data.

Boulder County public health officials issued an order Sept. 24 that requires everyone in Boulder between the ages of 18 to 22 to halt gatherings, and so far, the order appears to be working — the University of Colorado Boulder's spike in cases has dropped, health officials confirmed. Only 10 new cases were reported by the university over the past two days. Boulder County has, however, seen an uptick in cases among all ages.

As of Thursday, 4,545 people in the county had tested positive for the virus since the outbreak began. The death toll reached 80 after one person died over the past week.

Around 210 people have been hospitalized since the outbreak began, according to Boulder County Public Health. More than 63,000 people have been tested in the county.

CU Boulder has reported 1,075 cases since Aug. 24.

In unincorporated Boulder County, 25 new cases have been reported over the past week, and there have been 252 cases since the outbreak began, the data shows.

Over the past week, 4,001 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Colorado, according to public health data.

As of Thursday, 71,218 people have been infected with the coronavirus in our state among 922,232 people who have been tested since the outbreak began, health officials confirmed.

Around 7,579 people have been hospitalized, and the death toll has reached 1,962.
