Boulder County Coronavirus Update: More Than 1,500 New Cases

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Over the past week, 1,505 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Boulder County, according to the latest public health data.

As of Thursday, 9,362 people in the county had tested positive for the virus since the outbreak began. The death toll reached 112 after 10 deaths were reported over the past week.

Around 306 people have been hospitalized since the outbreak began, according to Boulder County Public Health. More than 145,000 people have been tested in the county.

The University of Colorado Boulder, which has moved all its classes online, reported 16 new cases Thursday. The university's shift to 100 percent remote learning was originally set to begin after the Thanksgiving break, but the university decided to make the move earlier amid climbing coronavirus rates.

Coronavirus cases reported over the past week:

• Boulder: 496 new cases; 4,252 total cases
• Longmont: 651 new cases; 2,839 total cases
• Lafayette: 160 new cases; 677 total cases
• Unincorporated Boulder County: 134 new cases, 648 total cases
• Erie: 38 new cases; 178 total cases
• Louisville: 49 new cases; 377 total cases
• Superior: 9 new cases; 125 total cases
