Boulder County Coronavirus Update: More Than 900 New Cases

Here's the latest news about the coronavirus in Boulder County, and a case breakdown by municipality and CU Boulder.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Over the past week, 910 new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Boulder County, public health data shows.

Boulder County has shifted to 'Level Orange' on the statewide COVID-19 Dial.

As of Thursday, 6,590 people in the county had tested positive for the virus since the outbreak began. The death toll reached 94 after nine people died over the past week.

Around 259 people have been hospitalized since the outbreak began, according to Boulder County Public Health. More than 124,000 people have been tested in the county.

The University of Colorado Boulder reported 23 new cases Thursday. The university is moving all its classes online early, officials announced the same day. The shift was originally set to begin after the Thanksgiving break on Nov. 25, but now it will move all students to 100 percent remote learning on Nov. 16, the university said.

Longmont: 1,710 cases

Lafayette: 411 cases

Unincorporated Boulder County: 410 cases

Erie: 118 cases

Louisville: 273 cases

Superior: 96 cases

More than 3,300 new coronavirus cases were reported in Colorado Wednesday, and hospitalizations are the "highest they've ever been," Gov. Jared Polis said in a virtual news conference Thursday.

Colorado is projected to exceed intensive care unit capacity by the end of December, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

A new 'Home by 10' public health order has been issued in Denver, Mayor Michael Hancock announced in a virtual news conference Friday. The order is set to go into effect Sunday.
