Boulder County Crews Find Missing Hiker In Johnny Park Area
A Florida man went hiking during the day, but he was not able to find his vehicle after dark, Boulder County officials said.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — More than seven agencies were involved in a three-hour search Monday night after a 20-year-old Florida man went missing on a trail in Boulder County, officials said.
The man went hiking during the day, but he wasn't able to find his vehicle after dark, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. Deputies found his vehicle near the Coulson Gulch Trailhead.
Crews spent three hours in a ground search, and used utility terrain vehicles and unmanned aerial systems, officials said. The hiker was eventually found unharmed.

"The male was not familiar with the area and was not prepared for cold overnight temperatures," the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said.
"Here are some safety reminders for those recreating this time of year. It gets dark early this time of year, before you head out check to see when the open space or trail closes, it's usually at sunset. Always have extra clothing, water and food with you. Let someone know where you are going and when you will be back."

Big Elk Fire, Lyons Fire, Pinewood Springs Fire, Boulder Emergency Squad, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and Colorado Search and Rescue were also involved in the search, officials said.
