Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County will host a Junior and Senior Team Fishing Derby Saturday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Wally Toevs Pond at Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat on 75th Street between Jay Road and Valmont in Boulder.

At this derby, participants consisting of one senior 65 or older and one junior 15 or younger fish together as a team. Prizes are awarded for the team that catches the heaviest trout, has the largest age difference, and are first to catch the limit.

The pond is stocked with rainbow trout – artificial and live bait are permitted.

A wheelchair accessible pier is available. Bring your own fishing gear and lawn chairs for seating. Seniors must have a valid Colorado fishing license.
