Boulder County Open Space Announces Closures
A Red Flag warning is in effect Wednesday, and some open space land has closed due to "extreme fire danger," officials said.
BOULDER, CO — More Front Range regions have been closed amid extreme fire danger, Boulder County parks officials announced Wednesday.
Boulder County Parks and Open Space has closed the following properties to the public until further notice:
- Anne U. White
- Bald Mountain
- Caribou Ranch
- Castle Rock climbing area
- Grassy Top
- Hall Ranch
- Heil Valley Ranch
- Hessie trailhead
- Mud Lake
- Reynolds Ranch
- Sugarloaf Mountain
- The City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks has also closed the Fourth of July trailhead.
The United States Forest Service announced the temporary closure Tuesday of all National Forest land in Clear Creek, Jefferson, Gilpin, Boulder and Larimer counties. The closures will be re-evaluated daily as conditions change, parks officials said.

"Please honor all temporary public lands closures," Boulder County parks officials said in a notice.

"Between COVID-19 and active wildfires, public safety resources are already strained. There will be increased ranger patrol in all closure areas."
The public can help emergency personnel by only visiting the eastern parts of Boulder County, officials said. A list of open properties can be found here.
