Boulder County, Colo. - On April 3, 2021, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Boulder County Communication Center received multiple 911 calls regarding a powered paraglider crash in a field north of Arapahoe Rd and N. 119th St. in unincorporated Boulder County.

The adult male pilot was found unresponsive and was the only occupant. Despite extensive lifesaving efforts by medical personal, the male succumbed from his injuries and was pounced dead on scene at approximately 6:21 p.m. The decedent’s identifying information is being withheld at this time pending notification of his next of kin.

Based on witnesses who observed the crash, it did not appear the powered paraglider had any equipment malfunctions. The cause of the crash is unknown and is being investigated by Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Detectives.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Erie Police Department, Boulder County Coroner’s Office, Lafayette Fire Department, and Mountain View Fire Department all responded and assisted with this incident.
