Boulder County Deputies involved in short pursuit of stolen vehicle

Boulder County, Colo. -On July 16, 2021 at approximately 2:10 pm, Boulder County Sheriff’s Deputies located a stolen Lexus SUV in the area of Tenacity and Christi Court, which is located in the Town of Prospect, adjacent to the south side of the City of Longmont, Boulder County. The Lexus was stolen a short while earlier from a garage in Erie.
Deputies attempted contact with the Lexus by conducting a high risk stop. The female driver and only occupant in the vehicle initially complied, but then backed into one of the Sheriff’s Office patrol cars, before fleeing the area. A short pursuit ensured, culminating in the Lexus crashing into a light pole at Pike and South Main Street, Longmont.

The driver of the Lexus was transported to the hospital with minor injuries from the crash. No deputies were injured.
Colorado State Patrol investigated the crash at Pike Road and South Main. The original auto theft, subsequent investigation and arrest of the driver was handled by the Erie Police Department.
