Boulder County Weather Forecast: More Snow, Cold Temps

A storm will hit the mountains this week —​ here's how the weather system will impact Boulder County.

BOULDER, CO — Many cases of frostbite were reported by hospitals along the Front Range over the weekend, and the risk of injury from the frigid weather isn't expected to let up just yet, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered snow and snow showers are expected in Boulder County Wednesday, with a low around 12 degrees.

Weather officials issued a hazardous weather outlook for northeast and north central Colorado.

"A storm system will move across the region Wednesday into Thursday and is expected to bring light snowfall to the mountains and plains," the weather alert read.

"More light snowfall is expected in the mountains on Friday, and increasing winds in the high terrain will cause areas of blowing snow which may reduce visibility. There is a better chance of snow over the mountains and northeast plains Saturday into Saturday night."

That storm system will impact Boulder County — at least several inches of snow is expected to fall throughout the county on Wednesday, the weather agency said.

There is a 60 percent chance of snow in Boulder on Wednesday, with a low around 12 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. But the snow in the mountains isn't expected to hit the lower regions Thursday — a mostly sunny sky is expected throughout most of Boulder County that day.

There's a 20 percent chance of snow Friday, weather officials said.
