In a city where 10 people were killed in a mass shooting last year, the Boulder City Council has unanimously approved a series of six gun violence prevention ordinances, along with a ban on assault weapons.   2. State of Colorado fails to revise environmental whistleblower rules. A group tasked with recommending changes to Colorado's whistleblowing rules leaves the permitting process as "muddled up as ever." (CO Sun)
  3. Polis signs Front Range Rail bill, but still no plan for train to Boulder. The initial tranche of money will begin to form the details of how a passenger rail system from Trinidad to Fort Collins would operate. (Out There)
  4. Commentary: We should be putting the health of the environment before oil and gas. Voters are increasingly becoming aware that the leasing of public lands for oil and gas exploration is costing taxpayers and directly impacting their communities.   5. Metro Denver real estate market cooling, but don't expect prices to drop. The Denver Metro Association of Realtors study indicates that home prices in the metro area have in some instances increased by 41 percent since April 2020.
