Boulder Hiker Rescued With Broken Ankle
A female hiker was injured in Chautauqua Park Sunday and was carried out by medical rescue teams. This is the 150th rescue call this year.

BOULDER, CO – Boulder County rescue groups wheeled an injured woman out of Chautaqua Park Sunday after she injured her ankle.
Boulder County emergency services got a call July 29 about an injured hiker near 101 Bluebell Road in Boulder County.
The Thornton woman, age 25, was hiking on the Royal Arch Trail, in Chautauqua Park near the Flatirons when she she slipped on some rocks and injured her ankle, the Boulder County Sheriff's office said.

Emergency teams from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, the Boulder Fire Department, American Medical Response (AMR), and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group (RMR) responded.
She was taken out of the park on a wheeled litter because she was unable to walk, and was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle, for treatment of a possible broken ankle, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office has already had 150 calls so far in 2018 for rescue, compared to 97 in 2017. The office released the following tips to avoid accidents and preventable tragedies while recreating in the Colorado mountains:
