Boulder July 4th Fireworks, Music & More: 2018 Guide

Ralph's Independence Day Blast takes place July 4 at CU's Folsom Field for fireworks and music. Check out Pearl Street Mall events as well.

BOULDER, CO – It's almost the 4th of July, and Boulder is getting ready to celebrate Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast, a Boulder tradition since 1941. Crowds of thousands gather each year at CU’s Folsom Field to enjoy Boulder’s largest fireworks display and local entertainment. There are also festivities on Pearl Street Mall and at Boulder Reservoir.

Boulder Reservoir

8 a.m. 5/10K Craig Towler Freedom Run. The reservoir swimming area will be open 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Entry fees are adults $7, youth $4, seniors $5. A special beer garden and beachside café will be open 9am–5pm. (No personal alcohol allowed). Rocky Mountain Paddleboard will be open for small watercraft rentals 8am–5pm.

4th on Pearl
Starting at 12:00 noon, 4th on Pearl features live music, activities and an extended beer garden. Artists include the Hazel Miller Band, Many Mountains, and Sonic Arcade. Free bus service on the Hop will provide transportation from 4th on Pearl to Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast at Folsom Stadium.

Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast

Gates open at 8 p.m. The stadium is located at 2400 Colorado Ave, Boulder.

Boy Scout Troop #72
Our color guards for the night, Boy Scout Troop #72, will present the American flag in honor of July 4th.

9:45 p.m. Fireworks Western Enterprises choreographs the display. More info

Boulder Optimist Club
Boulder Optimist Club will assist us in collecting donations at the gate. Although WK Real Estate is the premier sponsor of the fireworks display and Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast is a free event for the public, CU relies on donations to cover the expense of such things as staff, security, facilities and transportation.
