BOULDER, CO — City of Boulder Mayor Suzanne Jones will testify before the House Select Committee Aug. 1 on the climate crisis. The hearing, titled “Colorado’s Roadmap for Clean Energy Action: Lessons from State and Local Leaders,” will be held at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Wittemyer Courtroom, 2450 Kittredge Loop, at 9 a.m.

“Urgent action is needed at the local, state and federal levels and in all sectors of society to address the threat of climate change and safeguard the well-being of our communities," Jones said in a statement. “I am honored to testify before the committee and share Boulder’s accomplishments — and our challenges— with the transition to clean energy. It’s a testament to our community’s climate leadership that we were selected to host this important hearing.”

The event is open to the public, but seating will be limited, the city said. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
