Health and wildlife officials in Colorado are warning people to be cautious around dead birds as a highly contagious strain of avian flu is causing geese deaths across the state. the University of Colorado Boulder recently found a 19 dead geese on campus.   3. Longmont Police continue to search for vandalism suspects. In June of last year, the Life Choices facility in Longmont was vandalized with graffiti supporting abortion rights and sustained fire and smoke damage due to arson. Both the Longmont Police and the FBI have increased the reward for any information leading to an arrest in connection to the incident. (FOX31)
  4. Fungus may be the next tool used to fight wildfires. Boulder Mushroom, a local mycology center founded and owned by Zach Hedstrom, aims to utilize mushrooms as a means of reducing the risk of wildfires in the foothills around Boulder. By transforming branches, logs and wood chips into healthy soil, mushrooms can prevent them from becoming fuel for fires. (Reporting Lab)
