BOULDER, CO — The city of Boulder launched a series of community feedback sessions Wednesday to gather input on the University of Colorado Boulder's proposal to annex its CU South property.

"The university has applied for permission to annex land it owns in the southern part of the city into the city for the purpose of expanding its campus in this location," the city said in a news release.

"As part of annexation, the university has also agreed to give the city ownership and access to a portion of the parcel so the city could construct a flood mitigation system that would help protect nearby, vulnerable neighborhoods."

“We look forward to hearing from all community members, and especially those in the neighborhoods that are most likely to be impacted by city flood mitigation and the potential annexation,” said Phil Kleisler, Boulder City Planner.

“This is one of the largest projects the city has undertaken in a long time and the outcome will have a lasting impact on Boulder.”
