Boulder Sex Offender Arrest: Woman Claims Attack At Gas Station
Boulder Police arrested a convicted sex offender who allegedly attacked a woman at a gas station early Monday morning

BOULDER, CO -- A registered sex offender, claiming to be a good Samaritan, allegedly approached a woman with a broken-down vehicle and sexually attacked her, according to Boulder Police. Mark L. Wray, 47, a registered a sex offender in Boulder, was arrested for alleged sexual assault, according to a statement by the Boulder Police Dept.
Police said in a statement that a female driver was found by officers crying in her car around 4:45 a.m. Monday at the Shell Gas Station at 2977 Baseline Rd. Wray was reportedly standing near the car when police arrived.
The driver told police she thought she was having car trouble and pulled into the gas station. While she was sitting in her vehicle, Wray allegedly approached and offered to help her, according to the police statement. The victim said Wray entered the passenger-side door and then allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Wray, who is a registered sex-offender in the City of Boulder, was interviewed at the police department and arrested for sexual assault. Detectives are continuing their investigation, police said.
