The City of Boulder aims to construct more than 50 miles of fiber backbone for "world-class telecommunications," officials said.

BOULDER, CO — The City of Boulder is soliciting bids from licensed and experienced contractors to construct around 55 miles of fiber-optic backbone and about 10 miles of fiber lateral extensions, officials said.

In the short-term, the infrastructure would support core city services such as traffic signal management and data management systems for public safety, the city said.
