Here are the top stories today in Boulder:

  1. The hapless Denver Broncos fire rookie coach after embarrassing 51-14 loss in Los Angeles. The Broncos entered the 2022-2023 season with lots of anticipation as a Super Bowl contender. With new owners, a new coach and a new QB, what could go wrong? From the looks of where the team is today, everything. (ESPN)
  2. Colorado colleges working on plan to help students that can't afford to eat. With increasingly diverse student populations, colleges across the state are ramping up programs that provide not just education, but meals for their students. (Local Today)
  3. Cold snap bursts pipes in 10 buildings on CU Boulder campus. The University of Colorado Boulder campus had a power interruption on Thursday morning, which in turn caused significant damage after pipes froze and then burst pipes when the heat at numerous buildings on the campus was cut of from the power outage. (Yahoo!)
  4. Southwest still struggling with cancelled flights at DIA. Southwest Airlines has had most of the delays and cancellations over the past week, and the woes continued for the discount air carrier on Monday at Denver International Airport, where more than 70 percent of Southwest's flights were cancelled.
