Here are the top stories in Boulder today:

  1. Most metro area schools are having a snow day, just without all the snow that was predicted. Boulder Valley School District and the University of Colorado have cancelled classes on Wednesday in advance of the snowstorm, but as of this morning, most of the snow that was predicted to fall, has not materialized. (9News)
  2. Pair of Memorial World War I pillars are in the crosshairs of CDOT road expansion plan. Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) discovered that the structural integrity of the memorial piers on Arapahoe Road near US 287 are severely damaged. To address this, a task force was formed to investigate options for the memorial and gather feedback from the public. (Local Today)
  3. Gov. Jared Polis talks about Colorado's future in his annual State of the State speech. Gov. Polis delivered his speech yesterday and outlined his priorities for his new term. One of the main focuses of his plans is to reduce the cost of living for residents of Colorado. There's been a significant increase in housing prices over the past decade, making it the second most unaffordable state in the U.S. (FOX31)
  4. If you're flying out of DIA today, make sure you check your flight's status before heading to the airport. Denver International Airport is suggesting that passengers to check the status of their flights on Wednesday morning, as the winter storm hits could impact airport operations. (CBS4)
