Here are the top stories in Boulder today:

  1. Boulder County considering how to spend cash from Gross Reservoir settlement. Despite the county commissioner's opposition to the Gross Reservoir expansion, they'll still be deciding how to spend the cash from the Denver Water settlement they agreed to in 2021. (CO Daily)
  2. Free transit in August may not be a done deal. RTD has applied for a grant to provide a zero-fare August, but is still waiting to hear back from the office of Colorado Energy. The program recently passed by the state legislature, envisions free transit in the month of August, will cut ozone emissions in the regional transit district. (Denverite)
  3. Union says that Starbucks is "banking on terror-effect to scare workers away from unionizing." As more stores move to organize, the coffee chain has been pushing back by filing complaints against workers leading union efforts in their stores. (CO Sun)
  4. Boulder City Council balks at expanding Central Park Historic District. The plan to enlarge the area that includes the historic Glen Huntington Bandshell, gets mired in the process, as city council votes down the proposal, at least for now. (Yahoo!)
  5. Municipalities suing Broomfield over Jefferson Parkway plan. Jefferson County and the City of Arvada filed a lawsuit against Broomfield for pulling out of the partnership to build a $250M parkway in 2020. (Arvada Press)
