City Of Boulder Asks For Public Input On Police Chief Recruitment

The City of Boulder is holding community input sessions to receive feedback on the recruitment process for the city's chief of police.

BOULDER, CO — The City of Boulder is asking for community input on the recruitment process for the next chief of police. The city is working with a national recruiting firm to host two community input sessions about what experience and characteristics the next chief should have.

Boulder Police Chief Greg Testa announced his retirement earlier this year after serving the department for more than three decades.

The job posting will open Nov. 25. Candidates will go through panel interviews and a meet-and-greet with community members.

The first community input session will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Boulder Public Library -Meadows Branch, 4800 Baseline Rd.

The second session will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 20 at the West Senior Center, 909 Arapahoe Ave.

Interpretation services will be available at both sessions.

Feedback about the recruitment process can also be submitted online.

A selection is expected to be made in February of 2020.
