City Of Boulder To Host 'Local Power' Meeting For Public
The City of Boulder is inviting community members to attend an update on the development of an electric utility.
BOULDER, CO — The City of Boulder is inviting residents to attend a meeting this week that will provide the latest updates on the development of a local electric utility. Steve Catanach, the city's director of climate initiatives, will provide an update on Local Power, the city's plan to create clean, affordable electricity.
The meeting will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Boulder Riverside, 1724 Broadway.
The city will also provide information on the city council's Climate Emergency Declaration and the September launch of the process to create a Climate Mobilization Action Plan.

The city is working with Xcel Energy to create engineering plans that would enable the current Boulder County electric system to serve in-city customers. The city is also developing a financial analysis of the potential costs of creating the utility.
