City Of Boulder Seeks Applicants For Pedestrian Committee

BOULDER, CO — The City of Boulder is seeking volunteers for its next Pedestrian Advisory Committee. The first pedestrian committee was "instrumental" in the development of the city's new Pedestrian Plan, which was adopted in September as part of the 2019 Transportation Master Plan, city officials said. The city is now putting together the latest committee to help put the plan into action.

Officials are recruiting volunteers who live and/or work in Boulder and "represent diverse voices," the city said.

The new committee will:

  • Help prioritize the next steps for the implementation of the Pedestrian Plan;
  • Provide feedback on project materials that will be presented to the Transportation Advisory Board and Boulder City Council;
  • Provide advice on community outreach strategies; and
  • Share information with other community members.

Meetings will be held every other month between January and December 2020 and will likely be scheduled after work hours on the third or fourth Thursday of each month. Transportation subsidies, interpreters and childcare services are available as needed. Committee meetings, walkabouts and homework will likely require a time commitment of four hours per month, city officials said.

Online and hard-copy versions of the application, in both English and Spanish, can be accessed on Boulder's Pedestrian Plan webpage. Applications will be accepted through Dec. 1.
