Climber Rescued After 20' Fall In Boulder Co. State Park

Rescuers carried a man out of Eldorado Canyon State Park after he slipped and fell from a rock, injuring his head.

BOULDER, CO – A rock climber was carried by rescuers out of a state park in Boulder County after he slipped and fell 15 - 20 feet from the rock face Wednesday evening.

The Boulder Sheriff's office reported that around 6:15 p.m., a companion called 911 to report a 31-year-old man had injured his head after slipping off the "JeT'Aime" route in Eldorado Canyon State Park. The companion said the man was conscious and could possibly walk out of the park on his own.

Rescuers responded from Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Rocky Mountain Fire Protection District, Boulder County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services, a statement said.

The climber was carried out on a litter and taken by Rocky Mountain Fire Ambulance to a local hospital in critical condition. "The extent of the climber's injuries are unknown," the sheriff's office said.
