Here are the top stories today in Boulder:
- Affordable housing initiative makes it on the November ballot. A measure that proposes to provide more public funding for affordable housing programs has collected the necessary signatures to appear on this November's statewide ballot. The Dedicated State Income Tax Revenue for Affordable Housing Program, if passed, would dedicate one-tenth of 1% of state income tax revenue for affordable housing. (Center Square)
- Are Colorado's state parks getting loved to death? Over use at the state's parks has park managers seeing more trash, packed campsites and picnic areas, and trails being damaged. Since 2019, some parks have seen a doubling of the number of annual visits. (FOX)
- A politician's age isn't necessarily a factor for voters. A recent CU study found that most voters don't consider the age of politicians to be of primary concern when deciding who to cast a ballots for. (CU Today)
- The COVID-19 pandemic isn't over. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) recently revised its vaccine-breakthrough dashboard and is recommending that everyone in the state complete the entire vaccine series. (Westword)
