Here are the top stories in Boulder today:
- After a 100 years, the Colorado Compact may have created more problems than it solved. Originally devised to split up the water that flowed out of the Colorado River, today more than 40 million people depend on the river, and it's quickly drying up. The original agreement may have never been an accurate way to distribute the water in the first place. (CBS4)
- University of Colorado's student enrollment likely to fall short of goal. The CU Board of Regents got bad news the week that school started. Enrollment for the system's flagship campus in Boulder may not increase as much as predicted, and the campus could see less money flowing in, potentially reducing the school's budget by nearly $7.8 million. - Z2 Leisure's CEO, Cheryl Liguori, is one of Boulder's live music icons. Liguori is one of six that's expected to be inducted into the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame on Sept. 15. (BizWest)
- Can a single chair lift revive southern Colorado's economy? Cuchara Mountain Park in Huerfano County has been working to turn itself into an affordable, regional and year-round destination for bikes and snow sports. (5280)
- Metro Denver is more than two inches short on annual rainfall. Even with all the moisture the first part of September, overall, metro Denver is short more than two inches, compared to what is considered normal for the year. (FOX31)
