Coronavirus In Boulder County Stores Dec. 30: 1 Outbreak Reported

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — While coronavirus numbers have been declining in most Colorado counties, public health officials are reminding people to wash their hands as much as possible and adhere to social distancing guidelines — particularly when shopping in grocery stores and conducting any other public activity.

Some of the most popular stores in Boulder County have strict cleaning procedures and coronavirus safety measures in place; however, the virus has been able to continually find its way into even the most unwelcoming environments.

While neighboring counties have each reported dozens of outbreaks at stores as of Wednesday, Boulder County has only reported one retail outbreak — the Whole Foods Market, at 2905 Pearl Street, has reported that 21 employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to state public health data.

Every Wednesday, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment updates its list of outbreaks in each county.

Some outbreaks have lasted more than a month since they were first detected. The Whole Foods outbreak in Boulder was first reported Nov. 23, the data shows.
