Coronavirus In Boulder County Stores Jan. 13: 1 Outbreak Reported

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Thousands of people head to Colorado's largest stores each week to buy groceries and other household items, and many of those stores have faced ongoing coronavirus outbreaks.

While neighboring counties have each reported dozens of outbreaks at stores over the past several weeks, Boulder County has only reported one ongoing retail outbreak — the Whole Foods Market, at 2905 Pearl Street, has reported that 26 employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to state public health data. Over the past week, 3 new cases were reported at the store.

If you're concerned about contracting the virus and grocery delivery services aren't an option for you, washing your hands as frequently as possible, social distancing and wearing a mask will go a long way in protecting you, health officials said.

Also, try to shop at a time when you aren't in a rush — it may take longer to get around while you're trying to stay as far away from others as possible.

Every week, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment updates its list of outbreaks in each county.

Some outbreaks have lasted more than a month since they were first detected. The Whole Foods outbreak in Boulder was first reported Nov. 23, the data shows.
