Coronavirus In Boulder County Stores Jan. 6: 1 Outbreak Reported
Many COVID-19 outbreaks have been reported in Colorado stores, but Boulder County is only reporting one active outbreak this week.
BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Some of the most popular retail and grocery stores in Boulder County have strict cleaning procedures and coronavirus safety measures in place; however, the virus has been able to continually find its way into even the most unwelcoming environments.
Public health officials are reminding people to wash their hands as much as possible and adhere to social distancing guidelines — particularly when shopping stores and conducting any other public activity.
While neighboring counties have each reported dozens of outbreaks at stores as of Wednesday, Boulder County has only reported one retail outbreak — the Whole Foods Market, at 2905 Pearl Street, has reported that 23 employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to state public health data.

Every Wednesday, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment updates its list of outbreaks in each county.
Some outbreaks have lasted more than a month since they were first detected. The Whole Foods outbreak in Boulder was first reported Nov. 23, the data shows.

More than 3,100 outbreaks have been reported in our state since the pandemic began.
Colorado has begun to see an uptick in its average number of daily cases, according to the latest public health data. Between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon, 2,619 new cases of the coronavirus were reported in our state.
