Here are the top stories in Boulder today:
- Recall petition filed against three BVSD Board Members: At last night's school board meeting, petitions were submitted to recall three board members for not listening to some constituents about health concerns regarding COVID-19. One of the board members, Lisa Sweeney-Miran, posted on Twitter saying "I reject this recall effort as a potential threat to public health and a waste of BVSD resources." The school district estimates that a recall election, if it moves forward, will cost the district more than $750k. To succeed, the petitioners must collect 15,000 signatures within 60 days against each board member. (7news)
- Parks and Recreation staff save life with CPR: Quick thinking staff on a trail near the North Boulder Recreation Center saved a man's life on Sept. 1. Employees Brian Llamas, Ian Crittenden and Leah Sanson were able to provide life-saving CPR when a man collapsed near the Rec Center. All three city employees received a Lifesaver Award from the City of Boulder and the victim made a full recovery due to the effort of these local heroes.

- Section of McCaslin Road to be closed for 18 days: The Town of Superior is embarking on a road resurfacing project and that will close a portion of McCaslin Boulevard entirely — from Sept. 20 through Oct. 8. Alternate routes are suggested. I spoke with the town's public works director, and he suggested that bicycle riders, in particular, steer clear from this section of the road during construction.
