Good morning, friends! It's me, Brad K. Evans, your host of the Boulder Daily. Here are all the things you need to know about what's happening in town, including:

  • University of Colorado fires the football squad's head coach.
  • Sunday morning Hill shooting suspects still on the lam.
  • City of Louisville making plans to ban gas in commercial buildings.

Monday's weather: A t-storm around in the p.m. High: 69 Low: 48.

Here are the top stories today in Boulder:

  1. CU fires head coach and looks to rebuild football program after 0-5 start. In his third year coaching the program, head coach Karl Dorrell has seen the team drop to the bottom of the PAC-12 heap. University officials made the announcement on Sunday after the Buffaloes (0-5) suffered a 43-20 defeat Saturday night against the Arizona Wildcats. (USA Today)
  2. Shooting suspects still on the loose after gun fight with Boulder Police. At least four individuals were involved in the incident early Sunday morning in the Boulder Hill area. One individual was shot in the arm and taken to the hospital, while the others ran away. Boulder Police report that they have several leads as to the identity of those that escaped. (FOX31)
  3. Louisville wants to ban gas service in new commercial buildings. Berkeley, California was the first U.S. city to ban natural gas hookups in new buildings in 2019. And in Colorado, Crested Butte has already made the transition. Now, the City of Louisville is moving toward an ordinance that will essentially ban natural gas in new buildings. (Reporting Lab)
  4. Trail Ridge Road reopens after snow closure. Two portions of Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park were closed due to dangerous weather conditions on Friday. The closures at Rainbow Curve, and at the Colorado River Trailhead on the west side, were caused by heavy snow fall. Both portions of the road were reopened on Sunday afternoon. (Out There)
