Here are the top stories today in Boulder:

  1. Anti-CU South group files lawsuit against Boulder over ballot item. The group that pushed the ballot item now want to change the approved language. Turns out their ballot title is unclear and doesn't accurately describe what they were shooting for with the repeal the annexation agreement that was approved by City Council earlier this year. (Yahoo!)
  2. Proposal to amend housing ordinance rejected by Louisville City Council. The proposal that would have increased the city's inclusionary housing requirements was voted down on Tuesday night. The proposed ordinance would have required 30 percent affordable, with no alternative fee-in-lieu option. (Hometown Weekly)
  3. This November's state ballot will be packed full of controversial items. Things like adding fees for a statewide affordable housing bill and reducing future TABOR refunds are on this year's ballot for voters to decide. (CO Newsline)
  4. Xcel's coal-fired Comanche-3 power plant in Pueblo is so unreliable, one partner wants to bail. When the coal plant is operational, one group is supposed to receive half of the power the plant produces. In 2020, because of outages, CORE got no power from the plant. (CO Sun)
  5. Homeless 101: How do cities end up with "Zero Homeless?" Boulder Beat takes a deeper dive on several communities that have only a small handful of chronic homeless and how they accomplished it. (Boulder Beat)
