Here are the top stories today in Boulder:
- City of Boulder's Police Oversight Panel still not holding police department accountable. It's gotten so bad, that one of the oversight panel members, Martha Wilson, recently resigned in protest. The panel was set up to help the community better understand the process of policing and the consequential self-reckoning it was supposed to bring. (Yellow Scene)
- The most common vehicles in Boulder targeted for catalytic converter theft. Boulder police have reports of nearly 700 catalytic converters so far this year. Police have released a top-five list of cars that thieves are stealing these costly to replace parts from. (FOX31)
- RTD is terminating both C and F light rail lines. The Regional Transportation District announced that it will discontinue the C and F light rail lines beginning on Sunday, Jan. 8. RTD is in the process of eliminating less used parts of their system, eliminating both bus and light rail routes in hopes of making RTD more efficient. (9News)
- Solar power arrays being added to the Colorado School of Mines campus. The engineering university in Golden has installed a new set of solar arrays as part of the campus' goal of developing clean energy. The cost of the system was around $4.8 million. (CO Sun)
- According to TSA, airline passengers are packing pets in their luggage. If you're planning on traveling from DIA this holiday season, the TSA is asking everyone not to pack their cats. TSA agents have been trained to see through the carry-ons and spot all sorts of threats, including pets. (FOX31)
