Here are the top stories today in Boulder:
- Last weekend's Hill shootout suspect charged, another arrested. Boulder Police have arrested Gabriel Sharma, 18, in connection to the shooting on University Hill. Sharma faces multiple charges, including felony attempted murder and discharging a firearm. The suspect is being held at the Boulder County jail on a $500,000 bond. (Boulder)
- Federal government set to pardon those with simple marijuana possession convictions. President Joe Biden intends to pardon most of those with federal marijuana convictions and will ask state governors to follow suit. (Patch)
- Colorado advisory committee starts work to rename Mount Evans. The process that will begin next week could end in a new name for Mount Evans. The process is part of a plan to rename some of the state's mountains and waterways long considered offensive or controversial. (CPR)
- Boulder's plan to add 5,000 new units in East Boulder moving forward. Boulder City Council signed off on a land use plan that will support the East Boulder Subcommunity Plan, a sweeping 20-year vision for redeveloping the city's commercial area east of Foothills Parkway. (ReportingLab)
