  1. Human remains found by Marshall fire investigators. The remains were found along Marshall Road in unincorporated Boulder County. Investigators are also focused on the remnants of a home in Superior in search of the second missing person. (CO Sun)
  2. Boulder County welcomes its first baby of the new year in Longmont. Ella Sue Dutton was born at 12:44 a.m. Jan. 1, 2022. She was born to Mackenzie and Matt Dutton, of Longmont. The newborn weighed 8 pounds and 9.9 ounces and measured 21 inches, according to a news release from UCHealth. (Yahoo)
  3. How the Marshall fire contaminated water supplies in Superior and Louisville. Water supplies in both Louisville and Superior could be unsafe to use after the fires that tore through these communities last week, and state and local officials are asking all residents to boil their tap water before using it.   4. Boulder wants to add another emergency shelter for unhoused people. City Council indicated on Tuesday that they want to create another shelter for people experiencing homelessness as soon as this winter and are asking the City to release a request for information (RFI) for ideas from nonprofits how to proceed.   5. Will RTD ever build a train to Boulder? The newly elected RTD Board President thinks so. After voters elected Vince Buzek to the RTD board in 2018, he became a vocal advocate for completing that now-underfunded and unfinished program. (CPR)
