Here are the top stories in Boulder today:

  1. First home to be completed in Louisville 12 months after Marshall fire. Jessica Carson and her two children cut the ribbon on their new home on Friday. It's the first home to be rebuilt after the devastating wildfire took more than 1,000 homes last December. Louisville is the first jurisdiction to issue a certificate of occupancy, though several homes in Superior are near completion, none have been issued in unincorporated Boulder County. (9News)
  2. CU system loses $120 million in market bets, impacts being felt as spending on campus projects being cut. The University of Colorado lost $120 million when it didn't withdraw investment gains in the market downturn this year. University leaders are asking CU's president and board to explain what happened. (News Richer)
  3. Planned annexation of land for future BVSD modular home factory approved. Boulder City Council has voted unanimously to annex about 48 acres at 6500 Arapahoe Road. Boulder Valley School District plans to construct a modular home factory that will allow students to build homes for Habitat for Humanity. (Yahoo!)
  4. Coach Prime docuseries set to debut on Dec. 29. The series "Coach Prime" will be featured on Amazon Prime. The four-part series documents the Jackson State University 2022 football season, when the team went 12-0. (CNET)
  5. Investigators say that Marshall Fire investigation results could be released early in 2023. Boulder County Sheriff's Office says that hopes to complete its investigation into the cause of the wildfire that destroyed more than a thousand homes, "early in the new year." (9News)
