Hiker, 61, Rescued In Boulder Park
A female hiker was rescued after injuring her leg in Chautauqua Open Space and Mountain Park, the Boulder Sheriff's Office said.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO -- A visiting hiker from the state of Washington was rescued by emergency personnel after injuring her leg. Around 1 p.m., 911 dispatchers got a call about a woman who was injured in the Chautauqua Open Space and Mountain Park on the Royal Arch Trail, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
The 61-year-old woman hurt herself while hiking the stairs on the trail and needed to be evacuated from approximately ½ mile up from the trailhead.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Boulder Fire-Rescue Department, AMR ambulance and Rocky Mountain Rescue Group responded to the incident. Rescuers were able to reach the female and evacuate her from the trail via a wheeled litter. She was transported to a local hospital, the sheriff's office said.
