Hiker Injured In 60-Foot Fall From Boulder Trail

A female hiker, age 59, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries after tumbling off the Goat Trail outside Boulder.

BOULDER, CO -- A female hiker fell between 60-80 feet off a Boulder County trail and was seriously inured Saturday, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said. Around 12:50 p.m. the country received a 911 call that a woman had fallen while hiking along “The Goat Trail,” in the area of 200 Hawthorne Avenue, just outside the city limits of Boulder. The hiker tumbled approximately 60-80 feet down a very steep slope. She was ultimately transported to Boulder Community Health with life-threatening injuries, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office identified the woman as Kelli Goodman, of Boulder.

Emergency personnel from the following agencies responded to the incident, which ended around 3 p.m., Boulder County said in a statement: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Rangers, Boulder Mountain Fire, American Medical Response ambulance, and 22 volunteers from Rocky Mountain Rescue Group. Two volunteer victim advocates with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene to offer emotional support and resources to witnesses to the fall, including Goodman's hiking companion.
