Injured Hiker Rescued From Lion's Lair Trail

BOULDER, CO — An injured hiker was rescued from the Lion's Lair Trail Thursday. The woman, who was hiking with family members,injured her leg near the last switchback at the top of the trail, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said.

Rescue crews were called to the trail around 11:30 a.m. The Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District and the Boulder Rural Fire Protection District assisted with the rescue, and gave the woman first aid.

The Rocky Mountain Rescue Group helped to bring the woman out to Timber Lane. She was then taken to a hospital by an ambulance.

Teams with the American Medical Response and City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks also assisted with the rescue.
