Jewelry Store Burglary, BMW Bad Check: Boulder Police Blotter

People throwing furniture into the street, mystery truck crash and more from the Boulder Police blotter.

BOULDER, CO -- These incidents were reported in the Boulder Police Blotter Nov. 17-20.

Nov. 17: Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Grandview on people harassing others and throwing furniture into the street. When officers arrived they witnessed a man snorting something off a set of keys. Two 20-year-old men were arrested for Unlawful Possession and Use of a Controlled Substance.

A 29-year-old man was arrested after he wrote a fraudulent check to purchase a vehicle at Gebhart BMW, 4740 Valmont. He was charged with Criminal Attempt Aggravated Auto Theft, two count of fraud by check over $2,000 and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Nov. 18: Police responded to a burglary in progress at Hurdle's Jewelry, 1402 Pearl Street. The owner reported he was watching a male inside the store via a live feed. Officers located a man near Circle K, 1480 Canyon Blvd., matching the suspects description who had several stolen items in his possession. The 32-year-old man was arrested for Second Degree Burglary.

Nov. 20: Officers responded to the parking lat of 40 South Boulder Rd. Cr. on an accident. They found a white Ford truck had driven through a fence and into the south side of a storage shed. Damage to the shed was extensive. Police searched the area but could not find the driver.

These incidents represent a portion of the police calls that took place on the specified dates. Under the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, departments have discretion in releasing police incident reports. Because some reports are for alleged felonies, they are still under investigation.
