  1. Kaiser Permanent announces plan to spend $100 million on new and upgraded facilities. The medical provider is expecting to do extensive renovations in some of its largest medical offices in 2023, including the Baseline Medical Offices in Boulder, which will include new medical and IT equipment, updated furniture, paint, and flooring.   2. Parent company of Boulder's Pharmaca has filed for bankruptcy. Digital pharmacy company Medly Health, and the parent company of Pharmaca, has filed bankruptcy and has announced that it plans to sell the 22 Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy stores. (Business Journal)
  3. Colorado River water users confab hopes to rethink how to use water. Water managers from the west are meeting in Las Vegas this week, at the same time as a water crisis is hitting the users of water from the Colorado River hard. The conference's theme is "A New Century for the Colorado River Compact," with a goal to address how to keep water flowing to 40 million people and millions of acres of farmland. (CO Sun)
  4. Ever wonder what really happens when you flush a toilet? CU research team, co-led by John Crimaldi, an engineer, used lasers and cameras to discover what happens when a commercial toilet is flushed. The results are surprising and the research may someday help prevent the spread of toilet-dwelling bacteria and viruses. (Smithsonian)
