- Voters approve library district, now the tough work begins. Boulder voters have approved the creation of a library district. This will increase the budget for the region's libraries, and will be paid for by property tax increase. the ballot measure passed 53 percent to 47 percent. Now the hard work begins with forming the new oversight and management groups. (Reporting Lab)
- Gains made during the pandemic to end childhood hunger have been lost after the federal tax credit expires. Researchers have found that food security significantly decreased when the federal child tax credits expired last January. Researchers also found that those most impacted by the cuts were Black, Hispanic and Indigenous families. (CO Newsline)
- Many of Xcel Energy's customers will see $33 drop in December's bill. Xcel says that some of its Colorado customers will see a decrease in their natural gas bill in December because of a fuel price adjustment. (FOX31)
- Turns out that there's an equation behind how fireflies blink. Physicists' equations predicted there could also be exceptions in what seems to be a random flash, has been found in firefly swarms. (CU Today)
- Votes still being counted in U.S. House District 3 race. Friday is the deadline for counties to finish up the counts in the Boebert vs. Frisch race. Last night was the ballot cure deadline, and there are still the military votes left to count. There's currently less than 1,200 votes separating the two candidates in the closely watched race. (CPR)
