Longmont Brewery Rustles Up Donations For MS Bike Rides

Left Hand Brewery and Thornton's Allegro Coffee Co. team up on coffee-flavored porter beer and several charity long-distance bike rides.

LONGMONT, CO -- If it's really hot, drink a beer. If it's cold, have some hot coffee. Two Colorado companies have teamed up to combine beer and coffee -- and to dream about bike-riding weather. Longmont's Left Hand Brewing Co. and Thornton's Allegro Coffee Co. are supporting a Whole Foods coffee promotion that will donate $10,000 to Team Left Hand, a group of Left Hand Brewing Co. employee-owners and friends dedicated to "solving the riddle that is Multiple Sclerosis."

Every year, the brewery sponsors a number of long-distance bike rides in several states to raise money for MS research.

Since 2008, Team Left Hand has had over 2,250 riders and raised over $2.8 million dollars for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. “We are simply doing our part to raise awareness and raise funds for research and programs to make MS stand for Mystery Solved.” shares Chris Lennert, National Team Captain. Funds raised support the National MS Society fund research, advocate for change, and help people living with MS. Team Left Hand will participate in five Bike MS rides across the country in 2018 and will host several fundraising events throughout the year aimed to crush MS.

Allegro Coffee will feature Hard Wired Coffee at participating Whole Foods Market locations for their winter “Making Coffee Matter” promotion, according to a press release.

Hard Wired Coffee is also the secret ingredient in Left Hand Brewing Co's Hard Wired Nitro Coffee Porter, which they say tastes like: "[Y]our favorite cup of coffee woven into a smooth and creamy nitro porter with chocolate malt, coffee, and toffee notes."
