Longmont Carjacking Suspect Evades Police: Information Sought
Armed suspect is still at large, the case is under investigation.

BOULDER, CO - Boulder County Sheriff's deputies chased down and attempted to stop a man suspected of carjacking a woman at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon, but the man evaded deputies on foot in Longmont. Nearby Longmont High School was temporarily placed on lockout, according to a report from the Boulder Police Department.
A woman pulled into a spot at the Twenty Ninth Street Mall Wednesday shortly before noon. She reports that a man tapped on her car window, and when she unrolled it to hear what he was saying, he pointed a gun at her and told her to get out. After she left the car, he jumped in and drove off.
Sheriff's Office deputies spotted the car near 3rd Avenue and Hover in Longmont, and attempted to pull him over. He eluded the deputies before crashing near 9th Avenue and Hover and taking off on foot.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Longmont Police and Boulder Police searched the area where the suspect was last seen, including use of a aerial drone.
The man is described as a thin, in his late 20’s, 5-feet 10-inches tall with a slim athletic build and a 5 o’clock shadow. He was last seen wearing a black down jacket with a gray hoodie underneath and dark jeans. A composite sketch accompanies this article.

The original driver was uninjured and Longmont Police are investigating the 9th and Hover crash site.
