Colorado's beautiful scenery and affordability attracted almost 240,000 newcomers in 2018, according to a new report. More than 28,000 of those newcomers were from California.

Storagecafé partnered with United Van Lines to analyze U.S. Census data on interstate migration patterns, and found that 658 people settled in Colorado each day in 2018. Most of those newcomers came from California.

While countless newcomers flock to Denver, Boulder and Arapahoe counties, the top county for out-of-state transplants was actually El Paso, with 52,345 new arrivals. Denver County followed with 34,277, and Arapahoe and Boulder received 25,855 and 22,095, respectively.

With moving costs starting at $4,000 per move, the California - Colorado migration route is one of the most expensive in the country, according to the Storagecafé data.
