North Boulder Affordable Housing Project Underway
City staff have been working on new affordable housing with Habitat for Humanity and Boulder Housing Partners.
BOULDER, CO — A new affordable housing project is being built in Boulder's Palo Park community. The project will include three triplexes for local families who are looking to own rather than rent.
“Most of the families that move into these houses are social workers or daycare providers or solid middle class families who are living in very small apartments with their kids right now,” said Molly Goodman, Habitat for Humanity job site supervisor, in a statement.
Goodman said the project aims to allow each child in the family to have their own bedroom.

The city offers homeownership through three programs: the Permanently Affordable Homes Program, the Downpayment Grant and the Downpayment Loan.
“The city has contributed funds toward this project, and these will be homeownership units, so we will stay connected to these units over the years as they sell and resell to future affordable homeowners,” said Kurt Firnhaber, the city's housing and human services director.
