Here are the top stories today in Boulder:

  1. California wildfire survivors offer Marshall Fire victims advice. A group of California wildfire survivors made a visit to Boulder County this week, where they met with those that lost their homes and businesses in the Marshall Fire. It was a unique opportunity to exchange stories and offer advice to those impacted by last December's Boulder County fire. (FOX31)
  2. CU South referendum poised for November election. Two groups that are opposed to the annexation of the land that CU owns in South Boulder submitted more than 5,700 signatures. It's now in City Council's hands, which will likely put the issue on this November's ballot. (CO Daily)
  3. Better check your home insurance. It's estimated that more than half of those that lost their homes in Louisville were underinsured, in some cases by hundreds of thousands of dollars. Then there's the city's new net-zero building code, which adds another $30k to the total. (Reporting Lab)
  4. Masks are still required in public indoor spaces CU Boulder campus. Regardless of vaccination status, CU Boulder's mask requirement for classrooms and indoor public spaces on campus remains in place, despite Boulder's mask mandate that expired on Friday. (CBS4)
  5. Lawmakers: It's legal for kids to play outside. A measure proposed at the State Capitol seeks to clarify that you're not abusing your child if you let them play outside or stay home alone. (CO Sun)

  • RTD's draft plan proposes bringing back some Longmont and Boulder routes. As part of the Reimagine RTD initiative, the beleaguered transit agency is proposing to bring back several bus routes that were abandoned when the pandemic hit. (Darik News)
  • Music For Marshall at the Boulder Theater raised over $25K for those who were impacted by the Marshall Fire. What a great thing to do for the community! (Facebook)
  • The City of Boulder reopened trail access in the Marshall Mesa area on Friday, Feb. 18, after assessing and fixing trail damage sustained during the Marshall Fire. (Boulder)
