  1. U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Boulder this week focused on Inflation Reduction Act funding. Pelosi joined Congressman Joe Neguse as they toured NCAR laboratory and hosted a roundtable discussion on the Inflation Reduction Act. (CBS4)
  2. Will the free transit test spawn a new program? Now that Colorado's free month of transit is over, some are hoping to take it to the next level. RTD is preparing a report on the test, due out in November. (CPR)
  3. Man struck and killed while crossing street in Longmont. An 84-year-old pedestrian was hit and killed by a driver while crossing in a crosswalk near 3rd and Pratt. (9News)
  4. Broomfield lawmaker pleads guilt to Driving While Ability Impaired. State lawmaker, Matt Gray plead guilty to DWAI this week. Gray decided not to run for his final term at the state legislature after showing up intoxicated at his kids' school back in April. (CPR)
  5. Colorado tops national list of stolen cars, metro Denver No. 2. The National Insurance Crime Bureau's (NICB) Hot Spot list shows that Colorado had the highest number of car thefts per 100 in the U.S. in 2021. As for metro areas, Denver is second only to Bakersville, CO. (PR Newswire)

  • Boulder County's prescribed burn dates announced: Boulder County plans to do several prescribed burns this fall at the Ron Stewart Preserve at Rabbit Mountain between Sept. 6 – Dec. 4, and at Hall Ranch between Oct. 1 – Dec. 4. Typically, these planned burns take place over a few consecutive days. Boulder County said they'll announce the actual dates and times at least 24 hours beforehand. (BOCO)
