  1. Costa Rican flavors land in Boulder with Top Chef Byron Gomez. Contestant from Season 18 of Top Chef, Byron Gomez, is bringing his Costa Rican heritage to Avanti in downtown Boulder through Pollo Tico, the only spot to try Costa Rican Rotisserie chicken. The menu features traditional recipes passed down from Chef Byron's mother, as well as contemporary twists on classic dishes. (FOX31)
  2. Why are municipalities testing their buildings for meth? After the Boulder Public Library was closed due to the detection of methamphetamine, it has forced other public spaces along the front range to test, and several have confirmed as contaminated. The increase in testing and closures is partly due to the "ripple effect" of after it was discovered in the Boulder's library HVAC system. (CPR)
  3. So far, vehicle owners aren't going wild over the Keep Colorado Wild Pass concept. The implementation of the Keep Colorado Wild Pass has encountered unexpected expenses and Colorado Parks and Wildlife has requested an additional $2.2 million from state legislators. The agency is hoping to persuade vehicle owners to pay the additional $29 fee when renewing their annual registration. (CO Sun)
  4. State legislators propose making all auto theft a felony count. According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Colorado has the highest rate of car thefts in the United States, with a record-breaking 45,000 thefts reported in 2022. In response, both Democratic and Republican lawmakers are planning to introduce legislation aimed at reducing auto thefts. (FOX31)

  • Boulder City Council has voted to remove the city's sales tax on menstrual products, incontinence products and diapers. This will allow these essential products to be more affordable and accessible to those that use them. (Boulder)
